Russia’s support to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) rising suspicions for India, for it is attracting other countries to get advantage of the project.
Alexey Dedov, Russian ambassador to Pakistan, said that Russia is interested joining its Eurasia Economic Project with CPEC.
The Russian ambassador assured that he supports CPEC and regarding it as a foundation for economic growth in Pakistan.
Earlier in November, Russia denounced that it is holding any secret talk with Pakistan over supporting CPEC.
India is treating this action as Russia has stabbed it in the back.
Narendra Modi, Indian Prime Minister, has personally communicated his concern to Xi Jinping, Chinese President, to which he gave a very little importance.
In response to Russia’s this very action, Brahma Chellaney, Indian strategic expert, said the Russia-India amity had reached an uncertain turn.
Chellaney said, “It is as if Moscow no longer sees India as a reliable friend or partner. Indeed, by seeking common cause with India’s regional adversaries — including by supporting the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor through internationally disputed territory and engaging with the Afghan Taliban — Russia is challenging India’s core interests.”
