ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chuadhry Nisar Ali Khan Saturday awarded Rs 50,000 and a commendation certificate to ASI Farzana Begum of Islamabad police for performing her duty professionally Friday, Samaa reported.
The police tried to stop workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) from holding youth convention in violation of Section 144.
The PTI workers pelted stones at the police.
ASI Farzana Begum showed bravery and saved a lady constable from the PTI workers and in the process she herself was injured, according to a government’s press release.
While giving award to ASI Farzana, Chaudhry Nisar highly appreciated her for showing sense of responsibility asked other policemen to emulate her for professionalism and sense of responsibility, a press release said.
