DUBAI: Pakistan opening batsman Azhar Ali created history Friday when he reached his first triple hundred of the career, in Pakistan’s historic 400th Test which is also its’ first Day/Night Test at Dbuai Cricket Stadium.
Azhar also became the first centurion of D-N Test.
It is first triple ton of his career.
The magnificent innings was studded with 23 classical boundaries and two humongous sixes.
Pumped up with excitement, Azhar celebrated his double century with push ups and Sajida.
According to states from ESPNcricinfo, with this great feat, Azhar has joined Pakistan elite with maximum hundreds after fifty Tests.
He has equalled the record of Muhammad Yusuf and stands second with Younis Khan and great Hanif Muhammad.
The knock has been well supported and enjoyed by the Pakistan dug out. Almost everyone back there was on their feet when Ali was nearly caught in slip on his 190.
The triple ton, was however, well applauded by his team mates and the management.
Pakistan decared innings on 579/3 as Test vice captain was unbeaten on 302 and captain Misbah was not out on 29.
With this monumental feat, Azhar Ali became 29th batsman in the world score 300 while only fourth Pakistani after Hanif Muhammad, Inzimam-ul-Haq and Younis Khan.
