KARACHI: Prominent leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain has distanced himself from the anti-Pakistan, anti-state statements of chief of party Altaf Hussain.
The key representative of MQM said it was not the policy of the party to attack media houses as he condemned what transpired on Monday.
While speaking ti media after release from Rangers’ custody, Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain said he is very depressed from the situation and does not want to comment on it any more.
Amir Liaquat said, whatever happened last night was disastrous and was not supposed to happen. He further said, he has decided to distance himself from party leadership’s statement and will soon announce his future course of action.
Earlier Sattar met senior MQM leaders at a local hotel including Nasreen Jalil and Arshad Vohra, sources confirmed.
The senior leader is expected to address an important press conference at the Karachi Press Club later today.
