LONDON: Denying Shahid Afridi’s comment, Pakistan Test captain Misbah ul Haq said that there is a lot of talent in Pakistan cricket but he believed that there is a need to polish the talented cricketers.
Talking to Pakistani news reported in England, Misbah said, “Of course there is a lot of talent in our country, but it needs proper education and polishing. There is a gape of competitiveness in our players, which causes them under performance in a competitive cricket.”
Earlier, Afridi stated in an interview with BBC that there is no talent in Pakistan and that he is better than anyone in the existing lot.
“We claim that there is too much talent in Pakistan, but sorry, no talent, currently the players are not at that level which is required,” he said during an interview.
Afridi further claimed that “I’m a better player as compared to them.”
While replying to a question, Afridi said he can’t openly discuss the issues of cricket and PCB due to being a central contract player. “I have no issue in elaborating on such issue but I fear for notice,” he said smilingly.
