ISLAMABAD: Mobile payments and Mobile wallets are becoming new trend of the town. To make things more advanced, Telenor has rolled out an EasyPaisa app which manages Mobile Wallet Account.
According to ProPakistani, the company has recently released an EasyPaisa app for Android though there is no iOS version for now. Telenor was the first one to enter this field to bring mobile accounts solution for the Pakistani consumer, and then came Mobilink with Waseela Bank rebranded as Mobilink Microfinance Bank).
The recent development is expected to increase the smartphone users’ mobile banking and transactions growth manifold.
Here is how EasyPaisa mobile app measures up,
When you start the app, it asks for permission to access your phone calls and phone media files. Though, the demand for access to your phone calls and content seems too much.
ProPakistani suggests checking out the Help Section at the bottom of the app, since it features answer to every common question.
ProPakistani also first tried testing the app on a rooted phone, a safety precaution given how rooted devices can have financial data compromised on them. Kudos to the app developers for this, for the app refused to run on a rooted device.
Users have 2 options the first time they open the app:
Login to EasyPaisa with existing account.
Create New Account (for both Telenor / Non-Telenor users)
New users will have to open account in this way,
Telenor customer can dial *345*3737#, set up a PIN code, and your account will be created.
Send SMS to 0345-111-3737,
Type ‘EP <CNIC Number>’ without the inverted commas and brackets. There should be a space between EP and your CNIC number.
Now you are ready to use the app.
