WASHINGTON- Along with many celebrities and political personalities, Donald Trump, the Republican front runner’s name has also been revealed by Panama Papers. Trumps name appears 3,450 times in Panama Papers.
Nevertheless, ICIJ makes it clear that just because one’s name has appeared in the list does not mean that the person is guilty of wrongdoing. But there is still a question mark on Trump because even if Trump’s dealings are completely legal, his name in the papers can be used in the upcoming General Elections.
Presidential candidate, Donald Trump has kept mum over the issue till now unlike some other political personalities and celebrities who have issued statement of clarification, like Emma Watson and David Cameron.
It is pertinent to mention here that this release has been the second episode of Panama leaks, the greatest data outbreak and more than 200,000 offshore account details from Mossack Fonseca, a Panamanian law firm, are now available.
Other figures who have previously come under scrutiny include David Cameron, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, and Lionel Messi the footballer. Iceland’s Prime Minister Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson resigned after being named in the papers.
