Salman Khan announced Olympics goodwill ambassador

NEW DELHI: Famous Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan has been announced as the goodwill brand ambassador of the Indian contingent participating in the Rio Olympics 2016.

The Indian Olympic Association announced its decision late Sunday.
The actor, whose next film is based on the life of a wrestler, will be part of the Indian contingent in Rio.
On the announcement, MC Mary Kom said, “It’s a great news that Salman Khan has come forward to support us during the Olympics. Having a brand ambassador like him will boost our morale.”
Salman Khan and the Olympics Association has been widely criticised for this decision.
India’s left-arm opening batsman and IPL franchise, Kokalata Knight Rider’s captain Gautam Gambhir has also expressed displeasure over the decision.
When asked about sentiments being hurt due to government’s decision to appoint Bollywood actorSalman Khan as the goodwill ambassador for the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir said, “Look I believe in that as well.
There are no shortages of real sportspersons in this country and people have done some massive things in this country.”
“I would have been happier if someone like Abhinav Bindra or someone else would have been made the ambassador.”
