ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in National Assembly and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Khurshid Shah has demanded the government to name Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani as head of the commission formed to probe Panama leaks.
While speaking to media here in Islamabad, Shah also called for international audit of the Panama Papers involving family of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
He rejected the commission led by Justice (retd) Sarmad Jalal Osmany to probe Panama Papers, saying wife of the former judge is affiliated with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The opposition leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah said that his party had reservations the day Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced to constitute the commission.
Meanwhile, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Justice (retd) Osmany is a respectable person, however, he expressed concerns over the former judge’s wife affiliation with PML-N.
