ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has hinted to stage a sit-in at Raewand instead of D-Chowk if government did not take required measures to probe into Panama Leaks, TheNewsTribe.coom reported.
Addressing to national Assembly session, PTI rejected government’s judicial commission terming it and eyewash and demanded an independent forensic commission under Chief Justice with ‘full authority’ to investigate the issue.
Khan warned that opposition would be forced to take to streets if the high-powered commission was not formed.
He presented himself for the audit and said that the commission could start investigations from Imran Khan, Shaukat Khanum and Bani Gala.
“Independent inquiry is the need of hour in Pakistan. There needs to b a commission headed by the CJ and he should be assisted by a team of forensic experts in probing white-collar crimes. An international audit firm should be brought in for money trail investigation,” Khan demanded while speaking in National Assembly.
“Tax evasion, money laundering and non-declaration of assets are serious crimes, which need thorough probe,” he said.
“It is the duty of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to present himself for accountability and to restore his moral authority,” he said. “If there is no wrongdoing in PM’s offshore wealth, he doesn’t need to be worried.”
