DHAKA: Finally some good performance with the bat helps Pakistan defeat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in tenth and their last league match of Asia Cup Twenty20, at Sher e Bangla Stadium, Dhaka.
Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi after winning the toss, elected to bowl first against Sri lanka.
The decision proved wrong as both Sri Lankan openers Tilkartne Dilshan and Dinseh Chandimal put up a 110-runs partnership.
Chandimal left the crease after his fifty, but Dilshan kept scoring runs, neutralizing Pakistan’s strong bowling lineup.
WIth his brilliant and unbeaten 75, Dilshan helped Sri Lanka put awinning total of 150/4 in 20 overs.
Pakistan in reply showed their intention straight away as sharjeel began to take on Lankan bowlers from th very first ball he faced.
Sharjeel miss-hit one from Dilshan and left crease on 31, Sarfraz (38) and then Umar Akmal (47) helped Pakistan finish the game in 19.2 overs with 6 wickets in hand.
