Four Blockbusters Deepika Padukone rejected

The dimple queen and enthralling beauty, Deepika Padukone says she has no qualms rejecting film offers that turned blockbusters later. She is the Bollywood’s 100 crore heroine who knows what she is doing.

The actress has always given preference to the script over other aspects of the film. And with her latest Rs.100 crore blockbusters, Deepika most definitely is at the top of her game. However, there are few films we wish she wouldn’t have turned down. Let’s take a look at the films Deepika Padukone had rejected in the last few years.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan

Before Katrina Kaif, the role of Meera was offered to Deepika Padukone. But Deepika rejected the film and thus lost the chance to star in Yash Chopra’s last film. Katrina Kaif fetched rave reviews for her performance in the film. The film also went on to become one of the highest-grossing films at the box-office.

Much has been said and written about Karan Johar’s most-awaited project, Shhuddhi. Social media went abuzz with news of Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan being a part of the project. Before Kareena, Deepika Padukone was offered the female lead in the film. However, due to personal commitments and date issues, Deepika chose Bajirao Mastani over Shhuddhi. This also rubbed Karan Johar the wrong way.

Fast & Furious 7

Many actresses would have killed to be a part of the Fast & Furious 7 franchise and Deepika Padukone was the only actress in Bollywood, who was given an opportunity to star in a movie opposite Vin Diesel. But due to date issues, Deepika finally had to turn down the offer. Deepika was busy with the shoot of Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela at that point of time.

Dhoom 3

Bollywood’s biggest franchise film, Dhoom 3, had earlier been offered to Deepika Padukone. Katrina Kaif’s role as ‘Aaliya’ had earlier been offered to Deepika. But again due to prior commitments, Deepika could not allot dates for the film. And thus, had to reject the offer.
