Bollywood movies that must not be remade

Some Bollywood movies are so brilliant that we do not want them to be remade. As their remake would taint the memories of our original ones. Here are a few of these,

Maine Pyaar Kiya

Talking about cult classics, Sooraj Barjataya’s Maine Pyaar Kiya deserves a mention. The dialogue of the film like ‘dosti ka usool hai, no sorry no thank you’ have become a part of conversations over the years. From Salman Khan’s boyish charm to the famous pigeon and the typical Babuji; Maine Pyaar Kiya had so much to offer. In this era where remakes are the norm rather than the exception, we hope no one thinks of remaking this classic.

Andaaz Apna Apna

Talks of a sequel to this cult comedy are doing the rounds for quite some time now. The debate if Aamir and Salman should reprise their roles of if younger actors like Ranbir and Imran should step into their shoes has also been on. The film has achieved cult status over the years. From the film’s dialogue to crazy songs and hilarious characters and situations, Andaaz Apna Apna managed to deliver on every front. We seriously hope that a remake is not attempted as the effortlessness of the script and the characters is hard to recreate.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

A classic love story, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or DDLJ, as it is popularly known, is considered to be one of the best love stories of Hindi cinema. Directed by Aditya Chopra, DDLJ has Shah Rukh Khan romancing Kajol in true blue Bollywood style. SRK and Kajol became Bollywood’s golden couple post the success of the film While the famous climax sequence has been recreated on celluloid, many times over the years, we hope no one attempts to fiddle with this piece of cinematic brilliance.
