NEWYORK- The Star wars actress, Carrie Fisher slams body shamers over Force Awakens appearance.

She responds to the criticism inflicted on her by body shamers on her appearance in the latest film in the saga. Fisher, 59, re-presented her role as Princess Leia in The Force Awakens, 32 years after her last appearance in Return of the Jedi.

She joined fellow original co-stars Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill in the film, which is predicted to be one of the most successful movies of all time after quickly taking more than $1 billion at the box office.

But Fisher was forced to take to social media to defend her appearance after some viewers said she had not aged well.

The American star posted on Twitter: “Please stop debating about whether or not I aged well.

“Unfortunately it hurts all three of my feelings. My body hasn’t aged as well as I have. Blow us.”

Fisher then re-tweeted another social media user who said: “Men don’t age better than women, they’re just allowed to age.”

The actress also posted a message from one person who wrote that she “didn’t age well” and “sucked in Star Wars”.

Fisher went on to write a series of defiant tweets about the issue, saying: “My body is my brain bag, it hauls me around to those places and in front of faces where there’s something to say or see.”
