LONDON: Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) are set to announce the shortlist for the 2015 Ultimate Team of the Year.
Ahead of the announcement, European football’s governing body has compiled an all-time XI from previous ultimate teams.
And this combination has put Thierry Henry in the attack alongside Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, although he has never won the competition with Arsenal.
The Gunners legend managed to keep the likes of Ronaldinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic out of the XI.
Turning to the centre of the pitch, Liverpool talisman and current LA Galaxy man Steven Gerrard amazingly got a place in the 3-man midfield. He was joined by Barcelona heroes Andres Iniesta and Xavi.
Somehow there was no room in the team for Zinedine Zidane (on the bench) or Paul Scholes (he didn’t even make the squad).
At the back, Iker Casillas was preferred to Gigi Buffon between the sticks (no room for Manuel Neuer in the squad), while the back four included Philipp Lahm, Carles Puyol, Alessandro Nesta and Sergio Ramos.
AC Milan’s Paolo Maldini was nowhere to be seen, while Chelsea captain John Terry made the bench.
