KARACHI: In an overnight decision, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah withdrew portfolio of local government from Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, just a day before commencement of municipal elections’ second phase in the province.
According to Samaa News, Shah lost the ministry as a result of his dispute with veteran PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah over district chairman’s seat.
“Both Sukkur-based PPP leaders had lock horns over seat of Sukkur district chairman they were demanding for their sons,” reported Samaa.
He said Chief Minister took notice of their row and resultantly withdrew Shah’s portfolio overnight through a hastily issued notification that was not bearing even CM’s signature.
Shah was made Local Government minister in July this year.
The development came a day before second phase of municipal elections scheduled to be held on Nov 19 in 15 districts of Sindh.
