LAHORE: Punjab Bar Council on Saturday morning has announced to observe a holiday on Iqbal Day November 9, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Going against Punjab government’s notification Bar Council of Punjab has stated that all the bar offices across the province will remain closed on November 9.
The statement further said that lawyers will record their protest against cancellation of holiday on Iqbal Day.
Meanwhile, Punjab government has announced previous day that there will be no holiday on Iqbal Day and all the public offices and schools will remain open.
The decision was opposed by many private schools and the decided to observe a day off on Iqbal Day.
There have been most dramatic turns and twist in the matter as, earlier, federal government announced public holiday on Iqbal Day and then returned its statement.
The next morning, another notification was issued declaring holiday and then the notification was taken back.
Nation is still confused whether or not it will be a holiday on Monday November 9.
