ISLAMABAD: There will be no public holiday across the country on November 09, and all offices and educational institutions will remain open as per routine on Monday, according to the Interior Ministry.
In a statement issued on November 03, the Federal Interior Ministry announced that November 09, 2015 would be a working day, unlike the past when the nation used to observe the holiday on the eve of birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal.
However, the government’s decision regarding cancelling of November 09 holiday came under severe criticism in social media, and later according to media reports, the government had withdrawn its decision.
But the government subsequently confirmed that that there would be no holiday on Iqbal Day and also issued a notification in this regard.
If no further notification issued till tonight, as expected by many, from Interior Ministry, the previous notification will be considered and there will be no official or public holiday on Iqbal Day
