DUBAI: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may play a tri-series involving Pakistan and Bangladesh if the scheduled cricket series in December fails to be materialized, ARY News reported.
According to sources, BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur met with Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan in Dubai and informed him that they cannot discuss anything regarding the scheduled series with Pakistan as they are entangled in their internal issues.
Sources said that India can propose a tri-series with Bangladesh as third team if the scheduled series does not take place as planned.
It should be noted that Sartaj Aziz, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs, in a statement said that there was no chance of a Pak-India series due to the current situation of the bilateral issues.
However, current and former Pakistani cricketers including test captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Wasim Akram have said that the series in December should take place.
