New York: US Researchers have created a new tool to counter the excessive battery drainage by the android apps in the smartphones.
According to details, Power consuming apps that shorten the battery timings on Android phones even when they are in a powered off state are being countered by US researchers.
Researchers are of the opinion that Apps that regularly check for updates consume about 30% of the battery power an Android phone loses when in that mode.
They have made a new tool, free Hush tool, that lets only the most-used apps check in while the phone is off. Hush can cut power loss from the apps by almost half.
Hush was created by engineers from Purdue University in Indiana after they carried out a large-scale study of energy use on Android smartphones.
