ATC declares MQM’s former KTC chief Hammad ‘absconder’

KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday declared the former chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Karachi Tanzeemi Com­mittee (KTC), Hammad Siddiqui, as absconder over the attack on Rally of Awami Tehreek back in 2012 in Karachi.

According to details, hearing of the case was presided by Justice Saleem Raza Baloch of ATC-III, who has ordered to arrest the suspects and declared the main suspect Hammad Siddiqui as absconder.

The Investigation Officer of the case told the court that a previously arrested suspect, Amir Ali, confessed during the investigations that Hammad Siddiqui had ordered the attack on the rally.

Officer further told that Amir has revealed many names during the investigation and police was raiding different sites to arrest them.

Court has ordered the relevant authorities to arrest the suspects, and put them into court. The next hearing of the case was adjourned until October 6.
