WASHINGTON – An American Investigative Journalist, Seymour M. Hersh, revealed shocking facts, on Sunday, as to how Osama was identified in Pakistan.
Seymour M Hersh said that Pakistan helped Washington in locating Osama Bin Laden but the operation “Neptune spear” was conducted in a manner that casted doubt over Pakistan’s intensions.
He revealed that Osama Bin Laden’s secret hideout was surfaced by ex-Intelligence Official of Pakistan Who was now living in Washington and worked for CIA as a consultant.
He further disclosed that the ex-Intelligence officer visited US embassy in Islamabad and offered CIA Station Cheif, Osama Bin Laden’s whereabouts in return of award US had announced.
Syemour M Hersh also dispelled the notion that besides being generous to help America find Osama, Pakistan was never informed of the operation.
He said that Osama bin laden was a prisoner of Inter-Services Intelligence and could not move without their will and direction.
He added that Saudi Government also knew about Bin Laden’s presence and advised Pakistan to keep Osama bin laden as a prisoner.
When US contacted Pakistan after the operation and asked for OBL, Pakistan suggested that Osama be Killed and his death should be announced week after the operation, said Seymour M Hersh.
Washington was supposed to announce that Osama bin laden was found in Hindu kush so that finger of blame neither be pointed towards Pakistan nor Afghanistan.
He revealed that Dr shakeel Afridi who is now jailed in Pakistan for his alleged links with CIA was also not informed of the operation “Neptune spear”.
He lamented that Dr Shakeel Afridi was used as a shield to hide the real story behind the picture.
