No Water Shortage In Islamabad; CDA

ISLAMABAD – The Chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Mahroof Afzal, said in a meeting held in Islamabad that there will be no shortage of water in this summer on Wednesday.

The Chairman maintains that water resources in Simly and Khanpur dam are sufficient.

The meeting was called to examine the water resources available and water needs thereof.

The chairman told that for the undisrupted supply of water, the water reserves in the reservoirs are abundant at least till the rainy season so there is no danger of water paucity in summer.

The Chairman CDA stressed that the issue of load shedding should be resolved in collaboration with IESCO officials.

He apprised that CDA supplies 34 million gallons from Simly dam, while from Khanpur Dam 8 million gallons of water are supplied.

Moreover other sources such as tube well are also used to meet the demand for water in the summer.
