ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif pledged Pakistan’s full support for Saudi Arabia in its operation against rebels in Yemen.
According to a report issued by the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA), king Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and the developments on regional and international arenas.
It said that the prime minister expressed full support for the Kingdom in the “Determination Storm” operation, stressing that all potentials of the Pakistani army are offered to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif assured his full support to the Saudi King in resolving the crisis.
During a telephone conversation, the Saudi king thanked the prime minister for his feelings, stressing the depth of relations between the two countries.
According to diplomatic sources, Saudi Arabia has also assured its cooperation for the safe evacuation of Pakistanis stranded in Yemen.
On the other hand, a convoy of Pakistanis has set out for Al Hudaydah from Sanaa, with diplomatic staff on-board as well.
Pakistan Ambassador to Yemen, Dr Irfan Yousuf told that the convoy comprises of 40 vehicles carrying more than 500 Pakistani citizens who were stranded in Sanaa.
He said that the convoy is heading under strict security and Pakistanis in different cities of Yemen have also been directed to reach Al Hudaydah for their safe return to home.
