ISLAMABAD: The Defense Minister of Pakistan, Khawaja Asif, said in the speech in the National Assembly that we will take Parliament in confidence before taking any decision regarding participation in the Yemen civil war.
Responding to the Khushid Shah’s allegation on participation in Yemen war, he said that we know the problems home and we know that it is the duty of Pakistan to make efforts to help Muslim countries solve their problems.
He maintains that we have good relations with Saudi Arabia and we will consider their invitation of joining in the war. But before reaching to any conclusion, we will try to bring both military and parliament on the same page.
We have respect for our holy places, and we will not tolerate if it comes to our sacred places as they are supreme for us, said Khawaja Asif.
Matter is under examination and we will reach to the final step to be taken very soon. Pakistan will do everything in her reach to help Yemen achieve peace.
He further added, matter will be considered in the Arab League conference on 28, 29 March.
The opposition Leader Khurshid Ahmed Shah said, on the same meeting of the National Assembly, that Pakistan should stay out of the Middle Eastern conflict and put focus on what is happening inside the country.
Imran Khan, Chariman PTI, said that Pakistan should try to solve the crisis by dialogue. Because dialogue is the best way to end this conflict otherwise small conflicts may lead to the regional tensions which may end up in the total war.
