Australia beat Pakistan by six wickets

ADELAIDE: Australia beat Pakistan by six wickets to qualify for the semifinal of the World Cup against defending champions India.

Australia chased down the small total easily despite some brilliant bowling by Wahab Riaz who picked up two wickets in the match.

Steven Smith batted excellently as he scored 65 while Shane Watson scored unbeaten 60 runs along with Maxwell’s 44.

Pakistan haven’t  got the great start as their both openers were back in the pavilion with just 24 runs on the score board.

Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and young Haris Sohail formed 73 runs partnership and helped the team at that stage. Misbah lost his wicket on 34 trying to attack Glen Maxwell while Haris Sohail was caught behind after scoring 41 runs.

After that Pakistan batsman played some irresponsible shorts and lost their wickets constantly.

However, Ehsan Adil and Rahat Ali batted sensibly and make shore Pakistan cross 200 mark.

Pakistan were all out after scoring 213 runs in 49.5 overs.

Josh Hazlewood picked up three wickets for the home side.
