Bomb blast outside Imambargah on Kari Road in Rawalpindi, Kills three

RAWALPINDI: A bomb blast  outside a Imam Bargah situated on Kari Road in Rawalpindi killed three people and injured two others, Express News reported.

The bomb exploded outside Qasare Sakina Imambargah in Rawalpindi and after the blast firing was also heard in the religious place.

The PIMS spokesperson said that two person named Ghulam Hussain and Abdul Shakoor brought dead in the hospital and later Syed Sakhawat also succumbed to injuries.

The injured persons name given by the PIMS spokesperson were M Altaf Hussain and Syed Sajid Ali Shah.

Police have declared the blast as suicide attack and they said that the suicide bomber’s suicide jacket could not explode completely.

The injured were shifted to hospitals in Islamabad as rescue services reached on the spot.

Eyewitness of the incident that suicide bomber tried to enter the imambargah but he could not succeed and the witness also added that suicide bomber was also lied on the blast site in injured state.

The injured were stated to be in critical conditions.

Emergency has been imposed in the Poly Clinic Hospital and the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

The blast was so much intentness that glasses of nearby buildings were smashed.

Army Commandos have been deployed outside the immambargah and earlier Security forces have cordoned off the area after the blast.

It is pertinent to mention here that it was third consecutive attack on Shia sect religious site, on February 13 At least 21 people were killed and 50 others injured during a gun and bomb attack at an imambargah in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area when suicide attackers and gunmen — dressed in police uniforms — attacked worshippers offering Friday prayers.

On January 30, as many as 60 people were killed in a bomb blast inside Imambargah in Shikarpur, Sindh.
