Pakistan players refuse to sign three-month central contract

KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team players have refused to sign three-month central contract offered by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Express.pk reported.

The team is visit to New Zealand for two ODIs before the World Cup and sources said that the players and PCB were at loggerheads over this issue.

The previous central contract expired in December 2014 and the board wants to renew it for next three months, but the players were angered by this offer.

The players also disagreed to some of the clauses of the contract which was made by the former chairman of the board Najam Sethi.

Sources said that in a meeting on Saturday in Christchurch the players had decided to sign contract for not less than one year.

The players came to know that incumbent Chairman Shaharyar Khan was not aware of the complications of the contract and they wanted to take the Chairman into confidence over the matter.
