ISLAMABAD: Former Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi has refused to accept the Board’s nomination of him as Chairman of the Bids Committee for auctioning Pakistan Super League rights a PCB press release said on Thursday.
“I am grateful to the Board of Governors for trust and confidence in me especially since I have personally worked hard to revive the idea and project of PSL but I do not wish to get involved in financial matters and contracts,” said Sethi.
Najam Sethi is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the PCB and honorary chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board which functions purely as an advisory and non decision making body.
He is scheduled to take over as President of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in July 2015 another honorary post.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday had restored Pakistan Super League Project.
The decision was taken in the PCB 33rd board meeting which was chaired by its chairman Shaharyar Khan.
The meeting has formed three committees and Najam Sethi appointed as head of the all new formed committees.
The meeting has formed committees for Super League Project, Media committee and Constitution committee.
But on Thursday Najam Sethi has refused to take responsibility.
