Waqar Younis cheers ‘Pakistan not amongst World Cup favourites’

LAHORE: Pakistan head coach Waqar Younis surprisingly expressed gratitude that Pakistan was not tagged as favourites of the upcoming World Cup 2015.

Famous former fast bowler and head coach of Pakistan, Waqar Younis, has surprised everyone through his remarks for not finding his team amongst World Cup favourites as the tag put extra-ordinary pressure on the players.

While talking to ESPNcricinfo, Younis reminded the semi-final finish of Pakistan in the 2011 when the team played excellent without much pressure.

He said that the played excellent cricket last time (in 2011) when Pakistan not amongst favourite teams of the tournament.

He admitted that the teams which play on bouncy wickets like Australia and South Africa were probably bigger favourites as compare to Pakistan but still Pakistani players have energy to show outstanding performance.

Pakistani cricketers are practising tough for the world cup which will be followed by two One Day Internationals (ODIs) against New Zealand in Wellington and Napier.
