LONDON: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif stressed for regional peace by better ties with India despite strain, urged negotiations between both countries on an equal level.
General Raheel Sharif while speaking at International Institute for Strategic Studies in London emphasised on resolution of Kashmir dispute to establish sustainable peace in the region.
He said that Pakistan was now focusing on war against terrorism and aimed to uproot terrorism soon in the country.
Implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) underway in the country, General Raheel said. He added that Pakistan will become successful soon to exterminate terrorists.
Pakistan and Afghanistan have strong strategic relations while both neighbouring countries were cooperating each other to fight terrorism.
He said that the country achieved many milestones in the military operation in the militant-held tribal agency North Waziristan while fast developments were carrying out in the Operation Zarb-e-Azb. He clarified that Pakistan was taking indiscriminate action against all terrorists.
