Transporters, traders announce support to MQM mourning day call

KARACHI:  Businessmen body of Sindh province, Sindh Tajir Ittehad (STI) and All Karachi Transporters Ittehad (AKTI) have announced support to Muttahida Qoumi Movement (MQM) day of mourning in the province on January 11, Sunday (Tomorrow).

The STI has announced that all the business will be kept close on the mourning day which will be observed by the MQM.

The transporters body AKTI has said that transporters will not bring their transport vehicles on the roads in wake of the MQM mourning day.

It is pertinent to mention here that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday night announced to observe one day mourning throughout the country on Sunday against the murder of its activists in police custody.

The MQM’s co-ordination committee has announced that a peaceful mourning day will be observed on Sunday during which public transport and business activities will remain closed.

The party said that transporters and traders will shut their businesses.

The party co-ordination committee said that protests demonstrations will be held in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
