LAHORE: A Shaheen Air NL-148 flight escaped life-threatening accident when front wheel axle broken off while landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Tuesday.
Airport sources revealed that Shaheen Air flight NL-148’s front axle suddenly broken off during landing in Lahore.
All passengers and crew of flights have reportedly survived safe in the incident while the airport administration has started evacuating passengers from the flight.
Shaheen Air spokesperson revealed actual reason for the incident, said that the accident caused due to hitting a bird while landing. At least 162 passengers on board in flight NL-148 have landed safely on the airport, the spokesperson added.
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesperson said that the Lahore-bound Boeing 747 slipped into muddy area at Lahore airport while all passengers have been evacuated safely from the plane.
However, Lahore airport has been closed for domestic and international flights till the runway would be cleared.
