ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday suffered a setback, as its key ally in the ongoing anti-government movement Sheikh Rashid Ahmed of Awami Muslim League (AML), has expressed his inability to attend PTI’s Sahiwal rally scheduled for today.
Sources said that AML chief Sheikh Rashid conveyed to PTI leadership his inability to attend the Sahiwal rally for fear of arrest.
Its is be mentioned here that the government is considering to take action against Sheikh Rashid for his speech at PTI rally in Nankana Sahib, wherein he had called upon the PTI workers and people to resort to violence, killings, and arson to oust the PML-N government.
Sheikh Rashid came under harsh criticism of media, civil society and lawyers for the call, which is being dubbed as a clear case of incitement to violence, a panel offence.
The government might register FIR against the outspoken leader and sustainability arrest him, due to which he has limited his public appearance.
Sources said that Sheikh Rashid might go underground to evade arrest and will apply for bail-before arrest if he was booked in the case.
