Two men ‘involved’ in attack on Benazir homecoming rally arrested: CID

KARACHI: Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh Police claimed to have arrested two men allegedly involved in the attack on Benazir Bhutto’s homecoming rally on October 18, 2007,  near Karsaz, Karachi.

Superintendent of Police (SP) of CID Usman Bajwa  in a press conference on Friday (today) informed media that they have arrested two men from Garden area of Karachi.

The SP said that arrested persons were members of a banned outfit and they revealed vital information regarding Karsaz tragedy which stated that the attack was planned in Mangopir area of metropolis and explosive materials were brought from Frontier Colony of Karachi.

The SP CID further said that they have arrested two more men involved in target killings incidents from National Highway who were identified as Jamsheed and Abid adding that ammunition were also recovered from the men.
