WASHINGTON: Search engine giant Google has finally launched its flagship pahblet and tablet Google Nexus 6 and Google Nexus 9.
As expected the Google Nexus 6 was coproduced by Motorola while Nexus 9 was coproduced by Taiwanese giant HTC.
The Nexus 6 is the biggest Google smartphone, it has a 5.9-inch Quad HD display, a 13MP camera, and dual front-facing stereo speakers.
It powered by quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, and comes in 32GB and 64GB storage variants.
The battery is also a biggy at 3220mAh, and we expect it’ll need it, The device has the very familiar design to Moto X. As expected Google launched the devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The phone also comes with a Motorola Turbo Charger, which should give you six hours of power from a 15 minute charge.
The Nexus 6 will go up for pre-order on October 29 and will be available in stores in November. Without a contract it’s going to cost $649 (global prices incoming) for the 32GB version. So yeah, not cheap.
On the other hand Google Nexus 9 which has a 8.9-inch, 2048 x 1536 display with an iPad Air-esque 4:3 aspect ration this is a rear rival to Apple’s tablet dominance.
It is powered by a 64 bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, 2GB of RAM and the choice of either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, while on the front there are dual Boomsound speakers from HTC.
The device has an 8MP camera complete with LED flash while 1.6MP front camera.
The Nexus 9 will be available in three colours, black, white and sand, as well as in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+4G combinations.
Google has confirmed that the Nexus 9 will go on pre-order from October 17 with the Nexus 9 release date set for November 3, although its not clear whether that’s a US-only release for now.
