ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) deadline to submit political parties’ assets details has ended.
According to the ECP, out of 289 political parties just 25 parties have submitted their assets’ details.
The ruling Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Jamiat Ulamae Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) are among the parties which have submitted their assets’ details.
Interestingly, the parties which have been demanding election reforms have not submitted their assets’ information, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Qauid-e-Azam (PML Q).
The ECP said that those parties which did not submit their data would not be allotted election symbols.
