LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ) central leader Pervaiz Elahi on Tuesday held Shahbaz Sharif responsible for the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers’ killings in Lahore and announced to stage protest on June 23.
He termed Shahbaz Sharif ‘Narendra Modi’ of Punjab and demanded immediate resignation.
PMLQ leader held a joint press conference along with PAT chief Tahirul Qadri’s son Hasan Mohayuddin. He said that Model Town presented a war-like scene since morning, adding that bullet marks were seen even on the windows of the nearby buildings. He said he can’t comprehend what the rulers did.
Pervaiz Elahi said while terming Shahbaz Sharif ‘Narendra Modi’ of Punjab that this was the extreme of oppression and cruelty.
He said when a movement becomes bloody, rulers cannot stay because the movement now involves the blood of the innocent civilians. He said that everyone has to become part of this movement to oust the rulers, adding that those who endorsed North Waziristan operation are being avenged this way.
Pervaiz Elahi said that he is with Tahirul Qadri and will remain as such. He said justice they don’t want justice from rulers adding that the blood of the martyrs will itself bring revolution.
PMLQ leader asked how independent inquiry is possible while Shahbaz Sharif is Chief Minister Punjab.
He said he doesn’t trust anything Sharif says, adding that the talks about judicial inquiry are just a show off.
