MQM chief Altaf Hussain congratulates Pervez Musharraf

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Friday congratulated General (retd) Pervez Musharraf for elimination of his name from Exit Control List (ECL).

Hussain called Musharraf and shared his joy and satisfaction over Sindh High Court’s decision to remove Musharraf’s name from ECL.

Hussain also shared his concerns for Musharraf’s mother and wished the former military ruler to meet her as soon as possible. In response, Musharraf thanked Hussain for his humble wishes.

SHC has accepted Musharraf’s plea to remove his name from ECL on Thursday and given 15 days limit to government to appeal against the verdict otherwise Musharraf’s name will be eliminated from ECL.

“The court has allowed our appeal and ordered to strike down Musharraf’s name from the Exit Control List. The order will be executed after 15 days,” Musharraf’s lawyer Farogh Naseem told AFP.

Throughout the case, Salman Aslam Butt, Attorney General of Pakistan, has maintained the stance in SHC that if Musharraf will be allowed to leave the country then he would never comeback for the trails of other ongoing cases against him.
