KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) accepts former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s plea to remove his name from Exit Control List (ECL) here on Thursday, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Shahnawaz gave the verdict on the petition filed to remove Musharraf’s name from the ECL.
In addition, SHC gave 15 days limit to government to appeal against the verdict otherwise Musharraf’s name will be eliminated from ECL.
“The court has allowed our appeal and ordered to strike down Musharraf’s name from the Exit Control List. The order will be executed after 15 days,” Musharraf’s lawyer Farogh Naseem told AFP.
SHC had reserved its decision on this case in the last hearing, conducted on May 29.
Throughout the case, Salman Aslam Butt, Attorney General of Pakistan, has maintained the stance in SHC that if Musharraf will be allowed to leave the country then he would never comeback for the trails of other ongoing cases against him.
