Islamabad: The committees formed by the government and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) will meet on Saturday (today) review the deliberations of the government team with the Taliban committee and decide about its future strategy for peace in the country.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan will chair the meeting The meeting will be chaired by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
The meeting follows the first face-to-face talks between the government negotiating team and members of the Taliban Political Shura on Wednesday.
According to reports, the government has given green signal to release non-combatant prisoners in the light of basic demand by the TTP
The TTP has the view that around 400 non-combatants, including women and children, are in the custody of the security agencies. However, the security agencies have refuted these claims.
On the other hand, the government also demanded the TTP to release of Professor Ajmal, son of former prime minister Ali Gilani and son of former government Punjab Shahbaz Taseer.
