DHAKA: South Africa has managed to keep the opponent team under pressure leading towards victory despite Netherlands’ strong grip on today’s World Cup T20 fight at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong.
Proteas reached winning stand with in second-last over the match against Netherlands after sending its all batsmen to the pavilion.
The winning team had given a reasonable 146-run target to Netherlands over 9 wickets; HM Amla played outstanding inning of 43 runs on 22 balls while F du Plessis (24) and AB de Villiers (21) led Proteas towards a challenging target for newcomers.
However, early fall of wickets, unnecessary hits due to game pressure kept the newcomers away from the victory.
South African spinner Imran Tahir was awarded with Man of the Match title, who took 4 wickets in his spell after giving 21 runs.
Netherlands’ MAA Jamil also exhibited pleasant performance in the match as he hunted 5 Proteas’ batsmen in his spell after giving only 19 runs.
