For rescue purpose, many upper floors of neighboring four storey buildings were vacated too but nobody was injured or hurt,
Mayor Marty Walsh said, “Today’s a sad day for the city of Boston. We lost two heroes here today.”
Lt. Edward J. Walsh, 43-year-old, and Michael R. Kennedy, 33-year-old, were the deceased firefighters.
According to Joseph Finn, Deputy Fire Chief, fire broke out in brownstone’s basement but caught the whole building within no time.
