ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said inflation rate decreased to 7.9% during last month of February, whereas, the prices of petrol, wheat, flour, sugar, lentils have been low in the country as compare to others regional countries including India.
Chairing the National Price Monitoring Committee، Dar suggested that calculated monitoring of the situation emitted out increased trend in prices of necessary goods in international market that initiatives could be taken to avoid impact of increased prices.
Finance Minister said that remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis raised to 11%, revenue generation increased to 17% and export increased to 6 %.
Ishaq Dar said Pakistani currency strengthened against dollar by 7%. He claimed that appreciation of rupees would resulted in further decrease of inflation rates.
Meanwhile, privatization committee of cabinet in the chair of the Finance Minister has approved the recommendations for e-government program put forward by Information Ministry division.
At the occasion he stressed that ministries should show restrained giving recommendations for restructuring when citizen money are involved.
Representatives of all provinces and respective authorities of federal ministries attended the meeting.
