ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday has laid foundation stone of long awaited Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service Project after attending Pakistan Day celebration in the federal capital.
PM Nawaz Sharif has formally inaugurated the Metro buses’ project in the federal capital Islamabad of worth over Rs44 billion with collaboration federal and provincial governments.
In the event, Pakistan PM was accompanied with Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar.
The project would be completed within 10 months and will facilitate upto 150,000 passengers daily for the decided route upto 8.6 kilometers connecting the twin cities.
According to reports, sixty buses will be provided to initiate the services in the first phase of the project while federal and provincial governments will contribute 50 per cent of the total cost.
