Washington: Virgin Mobile is offering Apple’s flagship smartphone Apple iPhone 5S Unlocked and iPhone 5C Unlocked for $385 and $315 respectively.
The 16GB iPhone 5S is now available for $385 without a contract from Virgin Mobile, the 32GB model goes up to $455, while the 64GB iPhone 5S costs $525. Interested customers can choose between Gold, Space Gray, and White color options.
If you don’t have to have the very latest, more advanced iPhone, Virgin Mobile is also offering discounts on the lower-specced, plastic iPhone 5C. This model hasn’t seen great demand since it launched alongside the iPhone 5S flagship, but the new price cuts may help drive sales. Virgin Mobile is now offering the 16GB iPhone 5C for $315, while the 32GB model is available for $385.
These are the lowest prices so far for Apple’s latest iPhones, and they’re even more impressive considering that interested buyers don’t have to commit to a lengthy carrier agreement.
The only caveat, if it can be called so, is that both the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C are tied to Sprint’s Virgin subsidiary, i.e. locked onto its network. On the other hand, iPhone fans who want to purchase a new iPhone for a considerably lower price unlocked may find Virgin Mobile’s offer worthy of consideration nonetheless.
Not everyone has a great opinion about Sprint’s 3G and 4G network (which Virgin Mobile uses), but at least it is nationwide. Moreover, it comes with the lowest unlimited data plans, starting at just $30 per month.
It’s also worth pointing out that Virgin Mobile notes that its new offer is web exclusive, and interested customers can get 30 percent off the normal price of an iPhone 5S or iPhone 5C for a limited time. Virgin doesn’t note when exactly it will put an end to this attractive deal, but iPhone shoppers may want to take advantage of it while it lasts. The carrier is also offering the 8GB iPhone 4S for 30 percent off and the 8GB iPhone 4 for 10 percent off.
