ISLAMABAD: Punjab government has requested the Supreme Court to provide four months time to hold local bodies’ election in province, media reported on Wednesday.
A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, resumed the hearing of a case pertaining to local bodies’ election.
Punjab Advocate General (AG) Mustafa Ramday presented before the bench a report which showed the time frame for local bodies’ election.
The elections have been divided in ten stages, according to the report.
The AG requested to court to provide four months as the preparations for the polls and delimitation of the constituencies would take more time.
