Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given approval to form Quick Response Force (QRF) and National Intelligence Directorate (NID) here on Tuesday.
The PM has given this approval during a high-level meeting to discuss the issues of national security, internal affairs and latest development regarding talks with Taliban.
According to reports, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Chief of General Staff Lt. General Ashfaq Nadeem and DG ISI Lt. General Zaheer-ul-Islam, chief ministers of all four provinces and the federal cabinet members participated in the meeting.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and DG ISI briefed the political and military leadership over the on-going issues in the country.
During the meeting, the matters of internal security, formation of QRF, to activate National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and to make strong network of intelligence sharing between the provinces.
The meeting also discussed the matters of security in Islamabad and decided to make four regional headquarters to make full proof security for the capital.
In the meeting, the PM said that time has come to eradicate terrorism from the country as it was the only way to make Pakistan a develop country.
