PESHAWAR: Matriculation examination of Peshawar Education Board has been started in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province of Pakistan as the board has installed close circuit cameras in the centers for the first time.
Authorities said that the CCTV cameras have been installed to end cheating menace.
According to Peshawar Board Chairman Dr Shafi Afridi as many as 135,804 students to appear in the exams. He said that 506 examination centers had been made in the provincial capital of Peshawar, Charsada, Chitral, Khyber Agency, Mhmand Agency and FR Peshawar.
Afridi said the CCTV cameras had also been installed for first time to monitor the examinations, adding that the cheating menace can be controlled through the cameras.
Examinations will continue till March 29.
