LAHORE: The Pakistani cricket team skipper, Misbah ul Haq, has uncovered reasons of defeats in important Asia Cup matches over returning to the country.
The Green Shirts declared runner-up team of the Asian tournament following defeat in final fight against Sri Lanka despite giving performing prominent throughout the event.
Skipper Misbah ul Haq, while addressing a press conference in provincial capital Lahore, highlighted major flaws in fielding section and several dropped catches which deprived the team from taking Asia Cup’s trophy to Pakistan.
Misbah said that the major reason for defeat in the final match is dropping some catches on significant moments and each player has felt sorry for it.
He immediately clarified that people shouldn’t take my words as the team didn’t make improvement efforts in fielding sector and they fought against each team well in the event.
Misbah added that Bangladesh’s tour was not easy as fast bowlers have had extra effort for performing against opponents due to slow wickets as well as the skipper seemed unsatisfied over his performance.
He praised outstanding batting attack of Shahid Afridi, who proved himself most beneficial for Pakistan; said that it is inspiriting after Afridi’s as well as other players especially batsmen come back in form before most-awaited World Cup T20 which increases expectations of Green Shirts’ winning in the international event.
